The UN-HABITAT is seeking to recruit, Country Level Operations (Francophone Countries), for the Global Land Tool Network. The Internship is UNPAID and full-time, working work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a HUman Settlements Officer in the Land and GLTN unit. The intern will work in close collaboration with the Human Settlements Officers of the Unit to ensure effective Country level operations in Francophone countries, particularly in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The intern directly reports to the Human Settlements Officer in charge of Country Operations and the Country Coordinator for Francophone countries with guidance from the Unit Leader and other relevant officers from the GLTN Secretariat.

Daily responsibilities include: 

  • Tenure Security agenda within Global Land Tools Network through pro-poor land tools and promotion of the continuum of land rights approach 
  • New Urban agenda 
  • Sustainable Developments Goals 
  • Research and capacity development in Country level 
  • Country operations and learning by doing 

Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the programme. English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in oral and written English and French is required. Knowledge of another UN Language is desirable.  Potential candidates will be contacted by hiring manager directly for further consideration.
